SRC Mission Statement"To design, develop, and commercialize innovative and cost-effective approaches for the application of design-based stereology to biological tissue."The Stereology Resource Center (SRC)A Maryland-based Corporation We take pride in our success during the past decade providing stereology-related resources to the international biolgoical research community. We support 100% of the new Macintosh-based computerized stereology systems worldwide and over 50% of the new PC-based stereology systems, with the remaining PC-based systems provided by three other vendors (BioQuant, MBF, and VisioPharm). Through the longest running training programs in unbiased stereology, we've trained over 1300 scientists in the international biomedical research community. We produced the best-selling textbook for unbiased stereology applications to biomedical research. For those who prefer to let us help them "do-it-yourself," our Stereology Core Facility meets the stereology outsourcing needs of research laboratories in academia, government, and private industry. Finally, through strong support of the federal government for our products and services, we do all of the above at the most affordable prices available. All of our services and products undergo stringent quality assurance reviews to ensure that that they meet the highest levels of performance and value. Combined with no-cost, NIH-supported programs for image analysis (Image J, state-of-the-art computerized image analysis and stereology systems are available to you at a small fraction of the cost for more expensive and more aggressively marketed systems, systems that provide few, if any, additional features that you will use. I ask you -- you can pay more for lower quality stereology resources, but why should you? Peter R.
